For Sariya
Background: Sariya wanted something written about her love-hate relationship with the daily traffic she faces as she transports her daughters to and from school, university, and other places.
Background: Sariya wanted something written about her love-hate relationship with the daily traffic she faces as she transports her daughters to and from school, university, and other places. She is a huge fan of Bruno Mars and she sings her heart out in the car!
For Sariya
The vehicular snarl, the day-to-day congestion
Making an agony the not-so-long distance
Testing this momma's strength and patience
Becoming the bane of her existence.
After four long years of this minor torture
Sariya has made peace, and found some pleasure
A Bruno Mars fangirl, she sings her heart out
Her teen princesses join in, warbling aloud.
For the love and care of those two progeny
She braves the honks, embraces the journey
Knowing that city life and all its attendants
Are part and parcel of civilisation!
Thank you for spending a bit of time reading my poetry. It means a lot to me. 🩷
I’ve written several posts on LinkedIn about my project named “Space of Life”. It's about driving.
I felt the main problem in driving is the reluctant to give way to other motorists. So this project is about giving way - a “space of life”. And it's a two-way action.
My plan is to start a YouTube channel about it and driving in general.
