Background: Janice is one of my oldest friends from our university days. We went to Spain on a scholarship together, and we had the absolute time of our lives. This is for her.

Dear Janice

Strolling through La Alhambra at dusk in summer of ‘07
Carousing in Port Vell in Barcelona, getting sunburnt,
Remember how Manuel flirted with us in the restaurant?
Doing these things with you was my idea of heaven.

“Somos flores del mismo jardín”, say the Spanish
We are flowers from the same garden, go the English.
The orchard is where loyalty and love bloom eternal
May the sisterly kinship we share be perennial.
