Colours
Background: I was inspired by a poem I read on Reddit. I had so much pleasure writing this little poem.
Colours
If I could describe colours to a blind person,
What would I say?
Red is the chilli pepper that burns your tongue.
Black is the silence that engulfs the dead of the night.
Yellow is the fragrance of sunflowers, fully bloomed.
Pink is the sweetness of cotton candy.
Brown is the wet earth in your palm.
Blue is the cool breeze that exhales after a rainpour.
Green is the moss that your bare feet step on in a forest.
White is snow flurries, a snowman.
Silver is a promise ring your partner gives you.
Purple is the scent of a bouquet of lavender.
Gold is the thick syrupy honey you pour on your waffles.
Grey is the windy rain that whips during autumn.
And orange is the tangy, sweet, sour fruit of the same name.
